If you want to make MORE sales, READ THIS!
How many times have you found yourself trying to understand why people are not buying your products? For entrepreneurs, this is one of the biggest problems, turning prospects to customers.
Often times, entrepreneurs believe that once they have a product that meets a need, they will definitely make sales. This is very far from the truth.
Have you also forgotten that your potential customers existed before your products?
If they could survive without your products, then why should they patronize YOU?
This is even more difficult when you are not the only one selling the products/services.
The question is – What makes YOU and your products unique?
What is your Unique Sales Proposition (USP)?
Unique Sales Proposition: “Customers will buy from me and not my competitors because.…………………….”
If you can’t answer this question in a quick, easy-to-understand and exciting way, it would be very difficult to convince potential customers to buy from you.
Providing an enticing answer to this question is very important to every entrepreneur.
An easy way to do this is to conduct your market research.
- Who are your potential customers buying from?
- Are they happy with their current suppliers?
- What are your competitors not doing well?
- What can you do to make their wrongs right?
- Can you offer more benefits to customers?
- What are those benefits?
Your answer to these questions can determine if your business will succeed or fail.
Before you start selling, ensure you find solid answers to these questions.
Customers don’t buy based on logistics alone, they buy based on feelings- emotions.
If you can reach the heart of your customers, you can get them to buy from you.
The question is – How much do you understand your customers?
The more you know about your customers, the more effective your sales and marketing efforts will be.
Understanding people is more difficult than mathematics. That’s exactly why most relationships fail.
Like puzzles, people are difficult to figure out. They are sometimes unpredictable.
Why would someone take a cab to a far-away shop to get a product that is sold at a shop nearby? That might be a bit weird but it happens every day.
Customers are important to the success of any business. NO CUSTOMERS, NO BUSINESS!
They have the power to keep you in or out of business! So, understanding your customer is OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
Tips on How to Understand Your Customers Better
- Who are your customers?
What are their ages, income, location, gender, expectations and occupation?
How do they think? If you want to win a customer, you have to think like one?
Where do they hang out online and offline? For online customers, is it facebook, twitter, skype, LinkedIn or Instagram?
What do they want? What is their deepest desire?
Your customers can’t be everyone. Marketing your products to every dick and harry is not an efficient way of marketing.
If I want to sell baby diapers, who are my major customers? Married women with kids, most likely between the ages of 26-45

- Ask for their honest reviews and LISTEN!
Receiving feedbacks is important to every business. Even if the feedbacks are negative, this is not the time for you to be defensive.
The rule of receiving feedbacks is that you don’t talk or interrupt the customer. Just listen!
Don’t listen to respond, listen to understand.
If you try to defend yourself, it would be hard to get your customers to talk next time as they would not like to hurt you.
Active listening is not easy. It takes a long time to effectively master this skill.
An example of this can be “What do you think we can do better?”
At Automated eCash Online Business Company, we apply this principle often. This is because we value our customers so much that we cannot afford to lose them.
- Conduct Surveys
This is a great way to get honest feedback regarding a product or service. Conducting surveys can help provide insight into the minds of people who responded to the survey.
With this, you can change your marketing strategy accordingly.
