  • Are they happy with their current suppliers?
  • What are your competitors not doing well?
  • What can you do to make their wrongs right?
  • Can you offer more benefits to customers?
  • What are those benefits?

Your answer to these questions can determine if your business will succeed or fail.

Before you start selling, ensure you find solid answers to these questions.

 

Customers don’t buy based on logistics alone, they buy based on feelings- emotions.

If you can reach the heart of your customers, you can get them to buy from you.

The question is – How much do you understand your customers?

The more you know about your customers, the more effective your sales and marketing efforts will be.

Understanding people is more difficult than mathematics. That’s exactly why most relationships fail.

Like puzzles, people are difficult to figure out. They are sometimes unpredictable.

Why would someone take a cab to a far-away shop to get a product that is sold at a shop nearby? That might be a bit weird but it happens every day.

  1. Who are your customers?

What are their ages, income, location, gender, expectations and occupation?

How do they think? If you want to win a customer, you have to think like one?

Where do they hang out online and offline? For online customers, is it facebook, twitter, skype, LinkedIn or Instagram?

What do they want? What is their deepest desire?

Your customers can’t be everyone. Marketing your products to every dick and harry is not an efficient way of marketing.

For instance;

If I want to sell baby diapers, who are my major customers? Married women with kids, most likely between the ages of 26-45

With this information, I can specifically target my real customers.

Receiving feedbacks is important to every business. Even if the feedbacks are negative, this is not the time for you to be defensive.

The rule of receiving feedbacks is that you don’t talk or interrupt the customer. Just listen!

Don’t listen to respond, listen to understand.

If you try to defend yourself, it would be hard to get your customers to talk next time as they would not like to hurt you.

Active listening is not easy. It takes a long time to effectively master this skill.

An example of this can be “What do you think we can do better?”
